Dr. Zhang, your child’s Tustin, CA, dentist, and his team are excellent with children. They are always patient and understand that it takes some children a while to feel comfortable and happy at the dental office.

From the start, we make dentistry fun and work to help children feel proud of their smiles and eager to present with no cavities and a job well done.

Your Child’s First Dental Visit

We see children as young as one year old or as soon as their first tooth emerges. Early dental appointments allow the dentist to monitor how the jaw is developing in relation to the teeth and how the teeth are developing in general. In addition, early appointments allow for earlier intervention if something is amiss.

Early appointments also help build lasting and trusting relationships between the team and your child.

At these initial visits, we count teeth, give your child a ride in the dental chair, and talk to you about any findings or areas of concern. Our team can also provide dietary and teeth-cleaning tips to help you care for your child’s smile between visits.

Older Children Visiting Our Dental Office

If an older child is coming to us for the first time, we provide an x-ray to rule out any concerns below the surface, offer a comprehensive exam, and do thorough teeth cleaning. If there are concerns with enamel quality and cavities, we may talk to you about dental sealants and fluoride treatments for your child.

No matter your child’s age, we provide dentistry that addresses their specific needs and always customize treatments to address their unique concerns and oral development.
